LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — Police in Lee’s Summit are investigating after a vehicle crashed into Police Headquarters Monday morning.


According to a news release from the Lee’s Summit Police Department, a vehicle careened into the front of the Lee’s Summit Police Headquarters around 6:00 a.m. Monday.

Following the collision with the facade of the building, the driver, who was not named in the release, was taken into custody.

The incident has resulted in the closure of the front entrance of the police department and courts until further notice.

Assessments of the damage to the structure are underway.

The investigation is ongoing.
