UPDATE (07/30/16 6:30 p.m.) A suspect wanted for murder in Columbia, has turned himself in at the Boone County Sheriff’s Department. In a media release from the Columbia Police Department, They advise that at 2:30 this (Sat) afternoon, The Sheriff’s Department reported that 18 year old Tyrone James Jr. from Columbia, turned himself in of his outstanding warrants for murder in the second degree and armed criminal action. James is being held with a $1 million dollar cash bond. 

UPDATE: (07/29/16 2:30 a.m.) Columbia Police have one suspect in custody and is seeking another in the homicide at Allen Street and Lasalle Place. Authorities say the victim, 17 year old Marquez Reed was involved in a disturbance with subjects in a vehicle when he was shot Wednesday. Around 6 am Thursday morning, detectives arrested 18 year old Jadarius C. Sanders of Columbia for felony hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence. The Police Department is asking for the public to help in locating 18 year old Tyrone James Jr. of Columbia, who is wanted for murder in the second degree and armed criminal action. James Jr. is known to be armed and dangerous and should not be confronted. Police would like to thank the citizens of Columbia for coming forward to resolve this investigation

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Columbia Police are investigating a homicide in the area of Allen Street and Lasalle Place tonight, July 27, 2016.

Officer were dispatched to shots fired around 7:50 Wednesday night and found a male with a gunshot wound. The subject later died at an area hospital.

At this time, investigators continue to process the crime scene at that location.
