Violet Roseanna Kitchen, age 77 of Macon, Missouri and former Carrollton, and Kansas City, Missouri resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 13, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Macon, Missouri.

Violet was the daughter of Alva C. and Daisy L. (Stanley) Grant, born on November 4, 1941, in Carrollton, Missouri.

She attended East High School, in Kansas City, Missouri, and later taught at Hamilton Business College in Independence, Missouri. On June 14, 1957, she married Richard E. Kitchen in Carrollton, and they were blessed with two children, Deena Marie, and Richard Alan. Violet was a very creative, gifted, and talented artist, who enjoyed crocheting scarves, and oil painting mainly scenery, structures, old buildings, and tigers. She loved reading and has authored a book: Growing Your Own Success, which is now available on Amazon. She was a Baptist by faith.

Violet is survived by her son, Richard Alan Kitchen and wife Jill of Bates City, Missouri; one sister, Betty Davis of Carrollton, Missouri; one brother, Stan (Butch) Grant and wife Carla of Macon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Richard Grant and wife Stephanie, Brandon R. Hedges and wife Emily, Heidi D. Hoskins and husband Joseph, Katherine Roseanna Grace and significant other, Ozie Castillo, and Charlie Grace and partner, Gavin Mohar; six great-grandchildren, Preston Palmer, Mason Ryan Hedges, Lila Rose Hedges, Dilyn Strohmeier, Logan Strohmeier; and Oryn Grace-Castillo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alva and Daisy Grant; her husband, Richard E. Kitchen; and her beloved daughter, Deena Marie Grace Burkett.

Please join the family for a reception, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North 65 Highway, Carrollton, Missouri.

A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home.

The family will gather privately for burial at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
