UPDATE: 08-16-2017, 10:03 a.m. — A release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office says Jones was located by law enforcement after he had been shot in his thigh area.
Jones was reportedly seen approaching residences in the 900 block of Northeast 231 Road in Henry County and was shot in the thigh and wounded. It is not clear at this time who shot the suspect.
Officers arrived at the scene and found Jones with what appeared to be a gunshot wound in his thigh region. He was arrested and taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital for treatment before being air evacuated to a Kansas City-area hospital.
The investigation is currently classified and ongoing. More information could become available this week, according to Henry County Sheriff Kent Oberkrom.
JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo.- The Johnson County Narcotics Unit and county authorities are in search of a wanted fugitive who escaped custody in Henry County following a vehicle pursuit.
The report indicates the pursuit began in the Leeton, Mo., area where the driver, Kevin D. Jones failed to yield as he drove south into Henry County. The vehicle pursuit was terminated near NE 1000 Road, just west of NE 101 in Henry County. Jones allegedly abandoned the vehicle he was driving near a cornfield.
Jones fled from the vehicle and could not be located in the surrounding area. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and no shirt with numerous tattoos on his body. Detectives later learned Jones is wanted for felony drug charges out of Lafayette County. Authorities ask that if you see Jones to contact law enforcement.
