CARROLLTON (KMZU) — Nearly a month after his disappearance, a wanted sex offender has been found and arrested in Iowa.

A news release from the Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office in Iowa says they received a call from Monroe County deputies that a pursuit was making its way into the county after a black GMC truck failed to stop for a traffic violation. Joshua David Pearson was found to be the driver of the truck, and he was captured when he abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

The Kirksville Police Department issued a warrant for Pearson on statutory rape and sodomy charges involving an 11-year-old victim Aug. 26. Pearson is now facing charges out of the two counties in Iowa, as well as the previous charges from Adair County.
