Excelsior Springs, mo –  Area police are attempting to identify a suspect from a carjacking and
kidnapping that occurred on Missouri 10 Highway at Old Orchard Avenue on June 09, 2020 at
approximately 6:15 pm.

The suspect was operating a stolen motorcycle when he struck another vehicle at that intersection.

The people of the vehicle that was struck, exited the vehicle to give help to the
suspect, when he jumped in their vehicle and left the scene with a 7-year-old child still in the back seat.

After driving about 100 yards, the suspect stopped the stolen vehicle and the 7-year-old child exited.                                                                      The suspect then left in the stolen vehicle westbound on Missouri 10 Highway before police arrived.

The stolen vehicle was recovered the next day at a hotel in Blue Springs, Missouri. Police have obtained
numerous photos of the suspect and are seeking the public’s help in identifying
him.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set white man, in his late 40’s to early 50’s. He is balding
with a reddish or sandy goatee, possibly with road rash to his left forearm.
