The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is warning of a scam involving a male who is identifying himself as a deputy with their office. According to the press release, the man reportedly tells victims they have a warrant for failure to appear on a jury summons, but that they can take care of the warrant by paying a $195 fee.
Officials say the suspect is using actual deputies’ names in the scam. They also remind us that deputies will NOT ask for credit card information.
If you have details or feel that you’ve been a victim of the scam, you’re asked to the Johnson County Sheriff’s office.
