Carey says 122 donors showed up and that will provide a sufficient supply for the time being. Carey reports 123 units of blood were collected and will be taken to the Community Blood Bank in Kansas City for processing. Those units can help as many as 246 individuals depending on usage and need.

Carey says the department holds five blood drives a year and is averaging 111 donors per event. The next scheduled drive takes place in December.
