WARRENSBURG, Mo.- Warrensburg City Council meets at their usual time tonight and will be the first meeting of this month.  The City Council will hold a closed meeting at 5:30 p.m. with a call to order at 7:00 p.m.  A report from the City Manager and the Director of Finance will be followed by the adoption of the agenda.  A presentation by Patrick Young of HDR Engineering Incorporated will speak on the results of the 2015 annual sewer rate review for the City of Warrensburg.  A public hearing will follow regarding an ordinance enlarging a low-density multi-family residence district by rezoning land located at 102 South Mitchell Street, from a one and two-family residence district to a low-density multi-family residence district.

Resolutions and ordinances are next on the agenda. The resolution that will be read relates to the City Council of Warrensburg supporting and authorizing staff to apply for a FY2016 (Fiscal Year 2016) Historic Preservation Fund grant for a Holden Street commercial historic district national register application. The second reading of an ordinance, which was a hot topic during the last meeting, will be next on the list.  It reads as an ordinance authorizing the City Manager and City Clerk to execute a contract amendment with Warrensburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, incorporated for convention and tourism services.  In simpler terms, the Visitors Bureau is requesting the City Council of Warrensburg to help pay for benefit packages and payroll taxes for employees under the current contract until a new contract is agreed upon in September.

First and second readings of four different ordinances will follow, and will include an ordinance concerning the adopted FY2015 annual budget for general administration, an ordinance executing a contract amendment with Piper Jaffray & Co. for financial services related to the Keystone TIF application, and an ordinance executing a contract for land planning services. Other business appearances and miscellaneous matters will conclude the meeting. First appearance will be in regards to a request for the city council to review a resolution, second will be a request for funding from the Stevenson Fund for the Teachers’ Warehouse of Johnson County, and lastly visitor center signage and request for funds for a mural project will end business appearances.

The meeting will be adjourned once miscellaneous matters from the City Manager conclude. Warrensburg City Council will meet in the council chambers at its usual time of 7:00 p.m. and is open to the public.
