Saturday April 26th, the Warrensburg Farmer’s Market will open for the 2014 season. The market will open at 7:30 am and stay open until all vendors sell out. This year the market has added the payment option of EBT so more patrons will be able to take advantage of local produce. Warrensburg Main Street Executive Director, Julie Turnipseed, says customers will be able to use their EBT cards to purchase tokens which they can use as currency with participating vendors.

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (April 21, 2014) – The Warrensburg Farmers’ Market will be entering the 2014 season on Saturday by accepting EBT payments.
The first day of the market will be Saturday, April 26, beginning at 7:30 a.m. It will remain open until all vendors sell out.
“We are very excited to have the ability to provide our customers with the opportunity to utilize EBT payments,” said Julie Turnipseed, Executive Director of Warrensburg Main Street. “Having this payment option allows even more members of the community the chance to sample some of our great produce.”
This is the first year that vendors at the Warrensburg Farmers’ Market will be accepting EBT payments. Customers eligible for EBT benefits will be able to purchase tokens at the farmers’ market, which they can use as currency with participating vendors.
The farmers’ market will be held on the new courthouse lawn, located at the corner of Holden and Market streets, every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to sell out; and every Wednesday, starting on May 7, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The market will continue through October.
