A cold front Thursday morning has brought lower temperatures to the area.  Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speakwith Meteorologist Dan Hawblitzel:

The first frost, or even the first freeze, is expected to occur sooner than in past years.  “We’re getting to that time of year where cold fronts start getting stronger and stronger,” said Hawblitzel, “And that front’s taking temperatures a little bit below normal for this time of year, but not too unusual for this time of year.”

He encourages people to take appropriate measures with their plants before this weekend frost. Hawblitzel says it is still too early to determine what kind of winter the area is looking at this year.
