Residents of Livingston County can register for a new weight loss program through the County Health Center. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with Livingston County Health Center Registered Nurse Anita Perry:
Perry says a counseling visit is required before the first meeting. Goals and a baseline health evaluation are a part of that preliminary meeting. A simple blood test is required prior to the beginning of the course.
Perry believes a holistic approach to weight loss and wellness will improve the results for most people but she also believes people will have different goals in mind. Some will want to see lower cholesterol, some hope for decreases in body fat, and some look for general health. According to Perry, all of these issues will be covered during the course.
The program costs $15 and classes start on September 7th. If you are interested in being a part of the next session of Weight Loss & Wellness, call (660) 646-5506 to speak with Program Coordinator Anita Perry, RN. The classes will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Health Center Classroom.
