Mother Nature tried her best to slow down travel again through parts of Missouri but despite some travel challenges The Western Farm Show took off to roaring start Friday. The Southwestern Association is the group that manages the event held each year at the American Royal Complex. KMZU’s Janet Adkison visited with CEO Jeff Flora about some of the activities taking place this year.

For the first time The Western Farm Show will hold a truck and tractor pull. Oklahoman Dave Bennett is the booming voice that will announce the evening fun.

The crowd on day one of show may not have been as strong as some hoped but the weather didn’t keep Hamilton farmer and MFA representative James Dotson away.

Doors for the show Saturday open at 9am. KMZU will host a seminar in the Wagstaff Theater. The guest speaker for the seminar is Daren Williams with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
The entry for the seminar is located right next to the KMZU Suburban near the front of the exhibit hall.
