William “Bill” Alfred Willis, 92, of Huntsville, MO, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019
at Moberly Nursing & Rehab. Bill was born April 29, 1927 in Brunswick, MO the
son of Roy Franklin and Clara Mairiam (Basham) Willis. He married Mary
Frances Clark on May 10, 1948 in Brunswick, MO, and she preceded him in
death on April 25, 2018.
Bill served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a
conductor for the Walbash Railroad, and Norfolk-Southern Railroad. Bill
attended the Huntsville First Baptist Christian Church and the Family Life
Fellowship in Moberly, MO. He loved gardening, reading books, puzzles,
tinkering with all kind of things, fishing and being outdoors, and mowing his yard.
Bill is survived by his a son Terry (Debbie) Willis of Huntsville, MO, three
daughters Cathy Ann (Alan) Herzog of Keokuk, IA, Elaine (Bill) Bowen of
Huntsville, MO, Billie M Flynn of Huntsville, MO, brother Frank Willis of Little
Rock, WA, sister Mary Perine of Shelton, WA, 11 grandchildren, 18 great
grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. He
was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Charles “Bud” Willis,
Edward Willis, Earl Willis, Melvin Willis, Earnest Willis, Johnny Willis, sisters Elsie
Cool, Tillie Jane Crader, son-in-law Delbert Sparks, 2 step grandchildren.
Visitation Friday, May 3, 2019 from 1-3:00 p.m., with services following at 3:00
p.m. at the Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville, MO, with military honors to follow
Cremation, with inurnment at a later date at the Huntsville City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association,
Alzheimer’s & Dementia Association.
