When you stop getting out and about due to cold and nasty weather, is around the same time that blood donations slow down, too.  “You know, we’ve had scheduled blood drives through out the year,” said Goetz, “In the past years in Orrick and there is a definite need for blood this time of year.  The blood bank called us and we are obviously ready to oblige whenever they need a place to have it.”

Remember that donating blood is saving a life.  “We invite anybody to come out and donate blood,” Goetz said, “Like I said, anybody in the area, it doesn’t have to be somebody from the Ray County area.  Just anyone that can come and donate blood, we sure would appreciate their time.”

Today’s winter blood drive will be at the Lions Club Building at 119 E. South Front St. in Orrick from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
