With rain in the forecast just as river levels begin to subside, sandbagging operations need all the help they can get.
One such effort based at Norborne High School will need additional manpower beginning Thursday after sandbag reserves were depleted today due to problems caused by wind. Waves have caused erosion issues in places along the levee, and sandbag reserves continue to be diverted to critical areas.
Carroll County Commissioner, Stan Falke, remains hopeful about the future of the levee system near Waverly.
