The Missouri Supreme Court heard oral arguments Thursday in the case of Chillicothe resident Mark Woodworth.  In opening arguments, Woodworth’s attorney Robert Ramsey said evidence recently discovered reinforces special master Judge Gary Oxenhandler’s opinion that the conviction should be set aside.  Click to hear Ramsey:

Ramsey said additional witnesses, as well as letters written by and to Judge Lewis were also withheld from Woodworth’s defense team. In this case, the burden of proof lies with Woodworth’s defense team, according to assistant Attorney General Ted Bruce.  He argued that Ramsey has not met that requirement.  Click to hear Bruce:

It is unknown at this time when the court will release their decision.
