MoDOT will close Route 13 this Thursday week so crews can repair pavement at the Kansas City Southern Railway crossing. The project is part of adding four-foot shoulders from I-70 to north of Higginsville, and pedestrian improvements at Routes 13 and FF.

HIGGINSVILLE – Route 13 will be closed from 7 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, through Sept. 14 in Higginsville to repair pavement at the Kansas City Southern Railway crossing.

A signed detour will redirect traffic during the work. The crossing repair is part of resurfacing and adding four-foot shoulders from I-70 to north of Higginsville, and pedestrian improvements at Routes 13 and FF. The paving and sidewalk work is expected to be completed by mid-October. The contractor for the $1.67 million project is Ideker Inc. of St. Joseph.
