UPDATE: (08/19/16) 7:38 a.m. – An official with the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the scene has just been cleared approximately one mile east of Smart Road on westbound Highway 50.

There is still no word on the condition of the two injured parties. Their injuries were initially described as moderate.

Traffic is back to normal at this time.

JACKSON COUNTY, Mo. – The Missouri State Highway Patrol is still on scene of a two vehicle collision approximately one mile east of Smart Road on Westbound Highway 50.

The collision occurred about 5:44 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016.

There were two people reported with moderate injuries. They were transported to an area hospital by ambulance. There current condition is unknown.

Reportedly it was involves a pick-up truck and a dump truck.

Drivers should use cation in that area. It’s one mile east of Smart road on westbound Highway 50, approximately 1.5 miles west of the 50/7 interchange.
