JEFFERSON CITY — Saturday is not just Halloween. It marks the first day of youth firearms deer season, which continues to Sunday, Nov. 1. Shooting hours are 30 minutes prior to sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset. Hunters must be at least 6 years old and no older than 15 on opening day. Permits are required. Only one male and female deer may be taken during the early youth weekend hunt.
