MISSOURI — Over 4,000 turkeys were harvested during the 2017 spring youth season.

According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, youth from across the state participated in the 2017 spring youth season from April 8, 2017 to April 9, 2017 and checked 4,060 birds.

Top counties included Franklin with 118 birds harvested, Callaway with 91 and Gasconade with 87. Hunters from last years youth season reportedly checked 4,167 turkeys.
