Local talent is always a part of community events and this February there will be a talent contest specifically for the display of area youth’s musical talents. These talents can be singing or instrumental or even both. Musical talents can be showcased on February 21st in Chillicothe at the United Methodist Church, 1414 Walnut Street. This event will take place at 9 a.m. through 12 p.m. and each contestant will be notified of their individual performance time.

Preregistration ends at midnight on February 9th and contestants can register by emailing [email protected] or by picking up a form at the Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce office at 514 Washington Street.

Luckily for these talented kids, there is no entry fee and the only potential cost would be the purchasing of the rights to use an artists music. However, the contestants are free to compose their own songs, but the two judges do each need a copy of which they can follow along.

Prizes for this event will be given for each age group. The age groups are broken down, 6-12 and 13-18 years old. First place takes home $75, second $50 and third $25.
